The Venator Mk II copied its predecessor in having 8 Superheavy Turbolaser Batteries, 4 on each side of the Tower Superstructure. The weapons systems of the Venator Mk II were a significant step up from the Venator Class, though the Venator Mk II was still extremely undergunned for a vessel of its size. This, combined with an extensive, overlapping shield grid, served to make ships of this class extremely tough if it ever found itself in combat. The hull of the Venator Mk II was plated in Durasteel and Tungsten. This increase in size allowed for a much larger and more powerful reactor to be installed. The Venator Mk II was larger than its namesake by a significant margin, at 2,000m in length.
